In the past few days, youve learned why most people fail with paid traffic, the importance of keeping the right mindset when buying traffic, and about the three different types of traffic you can buy.
Today, youre going to learn about buying paid traffic in the strangers and friends groups, and how to best use these two types of traffic.
Strangers, as we talked about yesterday, are people who have never heard of you and dont trust you yet. They arent likely to buy anything until they get to know you a little, so youll want to use this type of traffic to promote free offers (such as the lead magnet you give away to gain subscribers) or just to get traffic to your blog or fans on your fan page.
On Facebook, you target strangers through interests. Youll want to bid a few cents over what the ad manager suggestsabout 5 or 6 cents per click over. This will get you the most traffic at the best price, but you probably wont end up paying this much.
Once you obtain the traffic, you can help them start getting to know you, and eventually you can turn them into buyershopefully repeat buyers. But in order to do that, you need to give them free content for a while first.
Once they have sampled some of your free content, they become friends. Friends are people who have begun to trust you, and are willing to purchase something. They may not be ready to risk a lot of money yet, so its a good idea to market low value products to them for a while. Eventually they may become fans, which will allow you to market the big-ticket products, but for now you should stick with promoting very high quality products that cost less.
The best way to get strangers to turn into friends is to keep offering them plenty of value. This will quickly help them believe youre an expert in your field, and will show them you have the knowledge and desire to actually help them. The more value you provide for free, the easier it will be to turn those strangers into friends.
Once they have turned into friends, you can still use paid traffic to market to them. Remember, just because theyre a member of your fan page on Facebook or theyre on your list doesnt necessarily mean they will receive your messages. Using paid traffic to market to them will give you a better chance for your message to be seen.
You can use a custom audience on Facebook to market to those people. You can either upload your email list or market to fans of your page (or both) to reach people who may not have seen your message otherwise.
Our next lesson is the fifth one in the series. In it, you will learn how to turn friends into fans, and the best ways to market to those people once they have become fans.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which social media platform is best for B2B brands in India?
LinkedIn is by far the most effective B2B social media channel for lead generation and brand authority. However, YouTube and high-value Instagram content are also growing in importance for building brand trust.
How often should our business post on social media?
Consistency is more important than pure volume. We recommend posting 3 to 4 times a week with high-value, original creatives and video content, rather than daily spamming without a strategic funnel.
Can we get direct leads from social media?
Yes. By combining engaging organic content with targeted lead magnet offers (like PDF playbooks, free webinars, or diagnostic audits), you can turn passive scrollers into high-intent inbound leads for Social Stardom.
