Today is our fifth lesson in our 7-part series on inexpensive paid marketing tactics. Were going to talk about what to do once those people youve already been marketing to turn from friends into fans.
Fans are people who are basically die hard in terms of whatever you put out. They know you. They like you. They trust you. And theyre willing to prove it by purchasing things you recommend (even big-ticket items, at times) and by sharing your content with people they know.
Fans are willing to buy pretty much anything you recommend as long as its on-topic for them and its affordable to them. The trouble is you cant always count on reaching them through traditional means.
How many times have you missed important emails because your inbox was inundated with a ton of stuff you didnt care about and you simply didnt see the important one? Or how many times have important messages gone to your spam box? Or you missed an important announcement on Facebook because your news feed was clogged with a thousand silly memes that pushed the important stuff down?
The fact is, this kind of thing happens all the time. So you cant count on subscribers seeing your messages and Facebook posts, because theres just so much else out there competing for their attention.
The answer, of course, is paying to advertise to them.
Yes, I know it freaking SUCKS having to pay to advertise to people youve already paid to advertise to in the past. It might even make you a little angry. But its not Facebooks faultat least not entirely. They had to do something to calm down the endless flood of information to peoples newsfeeds before their users left the site in droves. There was just too much information being posted by too many pages.
So, yes, you may have to pay once to get a user on your mailing list or Facebook page and then again to put your ad in front of that user, but you should get some value each time you pay.
How exactly does one target their fans?
On Facebook, you can upload your email list as a custom audience, and you can also choose to target only fans of your page on Facebook. For this method, you could advertise more expensive products, services, affiliate products, classes, etc.
Youll want to pay about 5-6 cents over the suggested bid, just as you did when you targeted strangers.
Now lets talk budgets. Remember, were talking about how to get traffic for ten bucks a day. Six of those dollars will be budgeted for advertising to strangers. Three for friends. And just one dollar per day for advertising to fans.
So you plan would be to pay $6 per day to send people to your squeeze page, blog, or fan page. Youd pay $3 per day to send the people who are already your fan or on your email list to a low-to-mid priced product. And youd pay $1 per day to send people who have bought from you before to a higher priced product.
Simple, inexpensive, and effective. Keep a look out for the next lesson, available shortly!
Frequently Asked Questions
Which social media platform is best for B2B brands in India?
LinkedIn is by far the most effective B2B social media channel for lead generation and brand authority. However, YouTube and high-value Instagram content are also growing in importance for building brand trust.
How often should our business post on social media?
Consistency is more important than pure volume. We recommend posting 3 to 4 times a week with high-value, original creatives and video content, rather than daily spamming without a strategic funnel.
Can we get direct leads from social media?
Yes. By combining engaging organic content with targeted lead magnet offers (like PDF playbooks, free webinars, or diagnostic audits), you can turn passive scrollers into high-intent inbound leads for Social Stardom.
